Dehl Gallhager

Dehl began playing drums professionally at 13 having studied with Minnesota symphonic percussionist Marvin Dahlgren Continued study in percussion theory and performance at Hamline University. Performance experience with pianist Manfredo Fest led him to pit orchestra work with broadway touring performances of Applause and Annie. Dehl has long been a fixture on the club music scene in the Twin Cities having held down the drum chair for house bands such as Steamboat Willie (country rock) Dan ” Daddy Squeeze ” Newton ( cajun zydeco) The Bees Knees ( big band swing and jazz) The Explodo Boys ( R&B ) and many more. He has recorded on over 15 albums such as Big Hits From Middle America, The Explodo Boys, Fatt City and High Top sneakers to name just a few. Dehl has been the Midwest Music Theater drummer for 11 years. He is seen on that TV program every week on the RFD Network backing many distinguished artists such as Kitty Wells, Rhonda Jackson and Bobby Bare. Dehl continues to record and produce TV and Radio jingles and ads and of course still performs regularly with Dean Harrington in several jazz combos.
